I just finished the 5th Gunslinger novel and the newest Star Wars book, Revelation.
Gunslinger 5 held up the amazing quality of the series, but I'm a little iffy on the Star Wars book, for reasons i won't go into.

I'm halfway through the book Naked Empire, in the Sword of Truth series. It's by Terry Goodkind.

Someone on Guild Wars told me that the Sword of Truth series was good, so I checked it out. This series was pretty much the exact thing I was looking for - warrior women, magic, and humor.

I'm reading a series on 47 books called "Sagaen om isfolket" which means "The saga of the icefolk"

it's pretty awesome actually, never seen a series with 47 books before, but it's all worth it

This was the series I read just before starting the Shannara series by Terry Brooks. It was excellent... I couldn't put these books down! It only gets better Taurucis.

Im halfway through Science of the Discworld by Terry Pratchett, and have recently finished A game Of Thrones by George Martin. But basically I devour any fantasy book I can lay my hands on, I LOVE reading

Just started "Unspeak" by Steven Poole, and "Language, Truth and Logic" by A.J.Ayer.

I always read two books at a time. One has to be pretty mind intensive and the other an easy bedtime read. It means I have something for every occasion.

Also, the Sword of Truth series was good. I didn't quite like the ending but everything leading up was pretty intense.

Shannara is what got me into fantasy-really really good stuff. After Shannara you should check out his Landover stuff-fairly tongue and check though (a guy buys a magic kindom from a real estate agent lol).

Right now I'm rereading Death Gate by Margaret Weis and Tracy Hickman for like the....can't actually remember how many times I've read the series. At least 5 times so far. Absolutely love the series-really gets into the morality of "Just because you can play god, does that mean you should?" and the entire nature of good and evil. Fantastic.

Instead of recommending books, I'm going to recommend authors. (also, everything I recommend is going to be epic fantasy, because I like epic fantasy)

David Eddings, superb author, and i would whole heartedly recommend every one of his books, read in chronological order of course.

Trudy Canavan, not so well known author (here at least) but I found her books to be very good reads, would recommend to anyone who likes epic fantasy.

Robert Jordan, anyone who has written a series of 11 books (with other supplements) His books are all amazingly detailed, and have a great storyline, and they don't get stale after the first few books. (his twelfth book is going to come out soon, even though he died, his family are putting it together)

Doughlas Adams, a great writer who's books always make me laugh. I would recommend them to anyone who can see wit and appreciates it.

I picked up Dirk Gently's Holistic Detective Agency (or however the title goes) once at the library and never found it again. I'll have to order it online at some point. Hate having an unfinished book!

i liked frank herbert's dune....however, i thought that only the first four books of it were good. the last two were ~meh~.
